"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)

PRAYER WEEK 2022 [January 30-February 6]
We are inviting members of the Nelson Ave church family to spend focused time in prayer this week.  Some suggestions for this week of prayer:
  • Praying the Lord's Prayer once each day [should take less than 60 seconds]--"Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen!"
  • Personal prayer times
  • Prayer times with others--friends, small group, family, church teams and committees, etc.
  • Reading the book of Psalms (middle of the Bible)--the "church's prayer book"
  • Prayer walks
  • Using the weekly bulletin for a list of people to pray for
  • Using a daily devotional / prayer book to guide your prayer time
  • Etc.
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
