Over the last number of years members of our church family have participated in the annual Ride For Refuge (whether in Richmond, Fort Langley, Surrey or other locations).
This year the Ride is encouraging local churches, individuals, friends, families, etc. to participate in a "RIDE Freestyle." As the web says: "You can still select the classic 5 km walk, or the 10, 25, or 50 km bike ride. And now there are even more ways to 'ride' - there are many fun and rewarding RIDE Freestyle options to support your fundraising." More information about available options on the attached document or check out the Ride For Refuge web site: rideforrefuge.org
We are starting to make some tentative plans to have Nelson Ave involved in this event. Some of our initial ideas include:
  1. Saturday, October 3
  2. Using the church facility as a place to gather.
  3. Encouraging different members of our church to lead and participate in different opportunities: cycling, running, walking, etc.
  4. Connecting with our local community.
  5. Organizing a possible post-RIDE event (BBQ? food together? etc.)
If interested in participating in the Ride Freestyle this year please register on your own or with the "Nelson Ave Community Church" Team.
More details coming in the future. If you have questions or comments about this please contact Dave Pel or Pastor Jo.
Happy Freestyling!
